Tonight The Islanders meet the Penguins at Mellon arena for the first time this year. The two other meetings took place at Nassau Coliseum and ended with Penguins victory. The Pens will be looking to bring that momentum into Mellon Arena to snap a 3 game losing streak.

Penguins

The Pens have been riddled with injuries as of lately wit Sergei Gonchar (shoulder), Ryan Whitney (foot), Hal Gill (shoulder), Tyler Kennedy (knee), Mike Ziomanis (still undisclosed), and Marc-Andre Fleury (also still undisclosed) there is some good news today for the Pen's defense.
Philippe Boucher will make his return tonight after suffering from an undisclosed injury back on November 28.

Tonight we will also see the return of John Curry, who got his first start against the Islanders and was pulled halfway through the game.

Islanders

The Isles will be out for redemption after going 0-2 against the Pens this season and riding a four game losing streak, including two games back-to-back on Monday and Tuesday. The Islanders are in the same injury situation with 6 players in IR, their biggest loss being All-Star goaltender Rick DiPietro, who is still out after having knee surgery at the beginning of November.

The Islanders are depending on their agility and youth until they can ride out most of the injuries that have plagued them. Yann Danis, signed as a free agent on July 2, 2008, will be in goal for his third career game with the Islanders. Danis has a proven record in the AHL, becoming co-MVP of the Reebok Hockey AHL All-Star Classic, and has recorded 48 wins with the Hamilton Bulldogs to hold the all-time franchise record.
